Sharon Neuwald, Dr.PH has worked extensively in health and human services. She is currently a consultant working in the area of early childhood development, community development, human services and health. This includes use of TOP strategic planning methods in early childhood and for the state of Oklahoma’s Health Improvement Plan. Sharon has worked in several capacities at the Oklahoma Department of Human Services as Chief of Staff, Legislative Liaison and program and reimbursement designer in the agency’s Medicaid Division. Sharon’s career in state government started as a legislative researcher for the Oklahoma House of Representatives covering health care and education. She has also worked with local communities as a planner for aging programs with the Southern Oklahoma Development Association, a council of governments in south central Oklahoma.

Sharon received a Bachelor of Arts degree in social work from the University of Oklahoma and has been an adjunct professor at the school.  She received a master’s degree in human services management from Brandeis University, and a Doctorate of Public Health from the University of Michigan. She has completed a mastery of training in the Technology of Participation through the Institute of Cultural Affairs. Sharon is a member of Phi Beta Kappa, and a board member of the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma and the Women’s Foundation of Oklahoma.

Sharon enjoys walking, swimming, cooking and going to movies and cultural events.
