2019 Grantees Named

Women’s Foundation of Oklahoma Announces 2019 Campus Grant Recommendations   
 

June 15, 2019 – The Women’s Foundation of Oklahoma announced 16 grants totaling $70,900 to higher education institutions for the 2019-2020 school year. The criteria for these 16 awards was the school’s focus on providing supports (advice/counseling, mentoring, referral/guidance, serving as advocates, specific materials and/or assistance) for single mother students and the proposed program’s ability for broad impact on a significant number of students.  

The grant approvals came with the understanding that the campuses may provide the same and/or similar services to all single parents, regardless of gender. 

The 2019-2020 Grantees are as followed:  

  • Cameron University Foundation ($3,350) Supporting Aggie Single Mothers at Cameron University 
  • East Central University ($5,000) Tiger Moms 
  • Langston University Foundation($5,000) Langston University Single Mothers Empowerment & Resource Initiative 
  • Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College ($5,000) NEO Grove SMART Campus: Expanding Access and Success 
  • Northeastern State University ($5,000) Enabling Self-Efficacy in Single Mothers – Tahlequah Campus 
  • Northern Oklahoma College ($5,000) Project Achieve Extended (PAEx) – all NOC campuses 
  • Northwestern Oklahoma State University (Scholarships)($2,000) NWOSU Single Parent Support Network-Enid Campus 
  • Oklahoma City Community College Foundation ($5,000) OCCC Single Parent Academic Resources Collaborative (SPARC) 
  • Oklahoma State University ($3,500) Educated Mamas 
  • Oklahoma State University – Institute of Technology ($2,550) OSUIT Single Mother Support 
  • Oklahoma State University – Oklahoma City ($5,000) Students in Need: Support for Single Mothers 
  • Rogers State University ($5,000) Rogers State University Single Mothers Inspiring Lifelong Education (SMILE) Program 
  • Rose State College ($5,000) Single Mothers Academic Resource Team 
  • Southeastern Oklahoma State University ($5,000) Southeastern Oklahoma State University – Single Mother’s Program 
  • Southwestern Oklahoma State University ($4,500) SWOSU Single Parents’ Network 
  • University of Central Oklahoma($5,000) SOS Moms – Supporting our Student Moms at the University of Central Oklahoma
